Google is preparing to make a big debut with the Pixel 9a, the new member of the Pixel series in the middle segment. Google Pixel 9a: Can it be the king of the mid-range?
First of all, the Google Pixel 9a is a mid-range device, but it will offer flagship features. The Pixel 9a will offer a bright and vivid image with its 6.285-inch OLED Actua display. The display reaches a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits in HDR mode and 2,700 nits in standard mode and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for durability.
The camera system is powered by a 48 MP GN8 Quad Dual Pixel main sensor and a 13 MP Sony IMX712 ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera also has a resolution of 13 MP and uses the same sensor. The device’s battery has been upgraded to 5,100 mAh, offering about 13% more capacity compared to the Pixel 8a. There’s support for 23W wired fast charging and 7.5W wireless charging, but the device doesn’t yet support the Qi2 standard. IP68 certification against water and dust is another feature that increases the durability of the device.
Google Pixel 9a is backed by 8 GB LPDDR5X RAM and offers 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage options. The phone will be available in four different colors, expected to be unveiled in March 2025: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Iris (purple) and Peony (pink). The starting price is estimated at 499 dollars in the US and 549 euros in Europe.
